A French proverb reminds me that "Gratitude is the heart's memory."

My husband and children gifted me this beautiful leather-bound journal for my birthday a few months ago. Though my keyboard is readily available to me, there is something nostalgic about a hold-in-my-hands journal. I love the feel of paper. The creek you hear when the book opens. The leather clasp.

I have deemed this my Gratitude Journal.

Why? Because I will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in my life. And I am setting in motion an ancient spiritual law; the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given to you. I crave to weave this principle into the fabric of my daily life.

I want this journal to be a tangible reminder of what God is doing in my life and how much of the everyday that I can be thankful for. It might sound like simple abundance, but it is in the simplest of circumstance that I want to find value.

Even if nothing substantial stands out on the pages, at least the recurring acknowledgement of what is working in my life will not only help me survive, but surmount my difficulties.

So, will you join me? I promise an internal shift in your life will take place. It will help you cultivate a new blueprint for the future – a sense of fulfillment.
