I don’t mean to sound like a broken record. I know I write to this topic often. But it’s what I know to be true -- that living a grateful life clears the haze that obscures the world around us.

You might remember the tornado that left quite a toll on Oklahoma a couple of months ago? That same day, our street was without power for several hours. And just as I opened my mouth to mutter exasperation about our situation, I quickly thought on those victims of the tornado and how fortunate I was in comparison.
The rewards of gratitude are many. It can change your life.

Johannes A. Gaertner once wrote, "To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven."

Abundance and deficiency exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which we will tend. When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present: family, health, love, friends, work, and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure...the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on earth.
I once pinned a quote and it’s stayed with me ever since, “To have what you want; learn to want what you have.” To me that is pretty powerful!

Are you living in a garden of abundance and joy or in a barren wilderness?
