I tend to handle the major calamities in life better than the mundane,
ordinary but definitely stress-inducing issues of daily living.
While I cannot imagine my world without the presence and power of Jesus
Christ, I am often guilty of living as if He does not exist. The result is a
stress-filled life. A trial comes and I try to handle it on my own. Loneliness
empties my heart and instead of reaching out to Him, I withdraw into the
darkness where stress is waiting to fill that emptiness with anxiety and fear.
If you’re undergoing stress – mental, emotion, physical or spiritual –
here’s a scripture for you. And for me.
Do not worry about anything. But pray and ask God for everything you
need. And when you pray, always give thanks. And God's peace will keep your
hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. The peace that God gives is so great that we
cannot understand it.

A beautiful reminder this morning!! Thank you sweet friend for this simple but powerful truth!
ReplyDelete:) Happy Monday!
:) Rebecca
Rebecca! Hi to you -- long time no talk. How the heck are you? Fabulous I hope. xoxo
DeleteThose two verses are among my favorites. I need to remember them every day. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteYou and me, both, my sweet friend.
DeleteAmen! One of my favorite verses!
ReplyDeleteReally? That's good to hear. It's fairly new to me. Though I was raised in the church, the Word is still new to me for the most part. I'm a "baby" Christian. :-)
DeleteI am the same as you. I can handle crises much better than the day to day issues. Will keep those words in mind.
ReplyDeletexoxo to you, Kate!
DeleteI can totally relate to that. Yesterday in church I heard a wonderful quote. I don't remember it word-for-word, but basically they said, "God designed this life knowing that we would need his help. We are not burdening him with our requests. He is waiting for us to ask. We cannot do it without him, and he knows that."
ReplyDeleteI sure needed to hear that. All too often, I feel I am a burden on the Lord, with my many requests. I do, however, try to give more thanks and praise than requests. But it good to be reminded that my requests are welcomed.
DeleteSuch a beautiful verse, Mandi! I am writing it down, as a reminder to myself... and putting it where I see it several times a day. I definitely am guilty of not fully trusting God and laying all of my burdens on him. Thanks for sharing with us! xoxo
