{link-up} NWHW | WORKOUT DO'S & DON'TS

This week is National Women’s Health Week which is a week-long conglomerate of communities, businesses, health organizations and other groups that help bring awareness to the importance of women’s health. 

I’ve joined Laura @ Mice in the Kitchen to help promote National Women’s Health Week. Each day this week, we’ll be covering topics such as fitness, beauty tips, healthy recipes, paired with giveaways and more! Today’s topic: Work out Do's and Don'ts

As I mentioned HERE on Monday, I struggle with exercise routines. Here are a few do’s and don’ts that I find most beneficial in whatever activity I so choose.

-Set goals. If you have a specific achievement, you’re more likely to stick with the program.
-Ask a friend to keep you accountable.
-Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workouts.
-Start small and be realistic. If you can’t run a 5K on your first day of running, don’t give up. Instead, work your way up in small increments.
-Reward yourself on occasion. But remember that food doesn’t have to be the only reward type.

-Over-train. It’s hugely important that your body has time to heal between workouts.
-Skip breakfast. You need the energy that breakfast will provide.
-Compare your successes and failures to other. Everyone is unique and what works for them may not work for you.
-Forget to have fun!

Again, keep an open mind and remain flexible when starting a new exercise routine. You might hate running but find that jumping rope better suits your lifestyle. Life is full of possibilities, and so if your fitness journey.
