“Look at me, mommy!” he squealed as he rode off on his blue scooter.
“You are so fast,” and I praise him and tell him how awesome he is at riding his scooter.
I walk down the street after him, and turn my eyes up toward the sky and realized I do the same to God….”Look at me. Look at me, God.”
I know that this is all we want of God. This is all we really want of Him. For Him to see us. For Him to watch us. We want Him to walk down the street next to us and simply be.
We each have this deep-set need for our spouses, our children, our friends or even our parents to really see us. We want them to notice us. But what we forget half the time is the Creator of the universe is already out there on scooters watching us succeed and fail – and He’s enjoying US the whole time.
