NWHW | HOW TO LOOK YOUR BEST

This week is National Women’s Health Week which is a week-long conglomerate of communities, businesses, health organizations and other groups that help bring awareness to the importance of women’s health. 

I’ve joined Laura @ Mice in the Kitchen to help promote National Women’s Health Week. Today’s topic: Tips on how to look your best

Being a mom is a beautiful wonder of the world. But it can really strain the time you take for yourself, to look and feel your best. And I don’t know about you, but my physical appearance started to alter after age 30. I’m now 35 and tips I read years ago when I was in my early twenties, seems so irrelevant at the time. Had I known then what I know now, I would have done the following:

Drink more water. Sounds obvious, but generally we don’t take the minimal daily requirement of water, which removes toxins and helps the skin look healthy. 

Smile more. It doesn’t just help you look more beautiful on the outside, but it really does amp up the feeling you have on the inside.

Take more naps. I’m notorious for not getting enough sleep, but when I do, I see a noticeable difference in my complexion and in my eyes.

Wear sunscreen. After having battled skin cancer 2 years ago, and noticing the sun spots beginning to find residence on my face, I would have worn sunscreen more often.

Wear lipstick. I’ve rarely worn lipstick in the past, but recently I’ve started experimenting with pinks and reds – it instantly brings color to my face and makes my teeth look whiter.

  1. I totally agree with the lipstick advice. I wore some Sunday for church and realized it brightened me up SO much.

    1. I just bought a fuscia colored lipstick from MAC -- I haven't gotten the courage to wear it, but maybe tomorrow night on a date with my husband. I'll let you know how it goes. :-)

  2. I may have to look into some lipstick or tinted gloss... But my teeth are kinda funky, so there may be no helping them!

    1. Seriously, Sammie, don't worry about your teeth. I have a horrible over-bite and my teeth have gotten crooked over the years. It's those types of things that give you character. Wear your lipstick, girl and smile BIG!
